Introduction
Structural steel membrane buildings are one of the latest forms of contemporary construction applications. The projects are highly customized, beautiful and unique. One of the main membrane materials is ETFE, which has the following characteristics:
- The light transmittance of ETFE film is very good, which can be as high as 95%. Through surface treatment, the semi-transparency of the material can be further reduced to 50 per cent;
- The unique anti-adhesive surface makes it highly resistant to dirt and easy to be cleaned, usually rainfall can remove the main dirt;
- ETFE meets B1, DIN4102 fire rating standards and does not drip when it is burning. The thickness is 0.05mm ~ 0.25mm, and the film is very light, only 0.15kg ~ 0.35kg per square metre.
-ETFE membrane is completely recyclable materials, can be used again to produce new membrane materials.
- ETFE membranes have a service life of at least 25 to 35 years, making them ideal for use in permanent multi-layer portable roof structures.
